Audition time is here!
Auditions for our spring recital, “Aladdin” will be held this Saturday, January 14th at our Hampden and Chambers location. If you are in Apprentice level or above, you are invited to audition for an extra part for our spring show!
Please come 15-20 minutes early for your audition to get your number and warm-up. Ladies should wear a black or dark leotard and pink or white tights for ballet auditions and can add black jazz pants or tight black jazz shorts for tap and jazz auditions. Gentlemen should wear a plain white t-shirt and black shorts or workout pants. All hair should be pulled of the face and secured. Not able to make it to auditions? You can still sign up at the desk and be placed in a part with your level.
Special Part Fees and an audition form must be turned in by this friday, January 13th:
Fees cover costume rental and staff for all rehearsals.
Inter/Adv & Elite: $55.00
Premier & Intermediate: $50.00
Novice/Apprentice: $45.00
Elite level: Pointe 12:00-12:30, Jazz 12:30-1:00
Intermediate/Advanced level: ballet/pointe 1:00-1:30, jazz 1:30-2:00
Premier/Intermediate level: charcter jazz 2:00-2:30, ballet 2:30-3:15
Novice/Apprentice level: ballet 3:15-4:00

Earth Day, Every Day!
The first section of our recital this year will be “Earth Day, Every Day!”. This will be a short show featuring our little ones. At the end of this show, these classes will be released and the auditorium will be cleared. We hope the students will purchase tickets for the second show, which will be the complete story of “Aladdin”. We feel that it is very important for the younger dancers to see the older students perform.

Travel around the world on a magic carpet ride as we explore the mysterious world of Aladdin!
The second show features our advanced dancers in their special character roles. This will include all classes ICD and above. If your child is only in the last section, “Dancin’ Around the World”, and you do not wish to see the entire show, please see the breakdown times.
Dancin’ Around the World
“Dancin’ Around the World” begins right after intermission. This part of the show contains the Father/Daughter Dance, Hip Hops, Lyricals, Poms, Irish and a variety of other numbers not in “Aladdin”.
Parent Meetings
The meetings will be during the beginning of your child’s class. We will discuss all recital information. If your child is in separate ballet, tap, & jazz classes, come to the first part of the ballet class in which your child is learning their ballet dance for info on all costumes. It is very important that you attend or have another parent in the class take notes if you are not able to attend. All questions regarding the rehearsal, show times, dates, costumes, and class pictures will be covered.
Recital Pictures
Recital pictures will be taken at the studio location your child’s classes are held except the Main Character Pictures which will be held at the Hampden & Parker locations.
Prices will vary from $10.00 to $40.00 depending on what package you choose. There are many options to select from (see payment envelopes that are being sent home). Please be here, dressed in costume, 10 minutes early. Please have your child attend, even if you do not wish to purchase pictures. Make checks for the exact amount, payable to Persona Studio Photographic and bring them in the envelopes when pictures are taken. Rental items will be at the studio for your pictures. Time involved will be approximately 30 minutes. Specifics for each dance will be discussed at the parent meeting.

Ticket Sales
All tickets for the Spring Recital will be sold online on Miller’s Dance Studio’s webpage..
The tickets are $12.00 each.
There is no limit on tickets.
ALL SEATS ARE RESERVED and are non-refundable.
We have added a Ticket Q & A page for our ticket program to assist you in your purchase.
***For all those children who are only in the third section “Dancin’ Around the World” (hip-hop, poms, Irish, etc) if you want to watch the first half, the ticket purchased for your section will get you in. If your child is only in “Aladdin” (Groups 15 & 16), they will be released at intermission, so you may purchase a ticket for them to watch the third section. Groups 16, 17, & 18 will be released after their jazz number in the 3rd section, so you may want to purchase them a ticket for the remainder of the show.
